VOLLEYBALL:

Gotham Volleyball runs organized league play during the Spring season on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons. The Spring season runs January - May. Players of all skill levels are welcome. The Divisions, beginning with the highest skill level, are:

Division 1 - Plays Thursday evenings 7:15-10:30
Division 2 - Plays Thursday evenings 7:15-10:30
Division 3 - Plays Wednesday evenings 7:15-10:30
Division 4 - Plays Wednesday evenings 7:15-10:30
Division 5 - Plays Saturday afternoons 1:00-4:15
Division 6 - Plays Saturday afternoons 4:00-7:30
Division 7 (Recreational) - Plays Saturday afternoons

Division 1 and 2 tryouts - Thursday January 25
Division 3 and 4 tryouts - Saturday January 27
Division 5 and 6 tryouts - Saturday February 3

There are no "tryouts" for division 7. Everyone is assigned to a team as space permits (returning players get priority). More experienced Gotham players volunteer their time to work with these teams to help improve volleyball skills.

Gotham also runs periodic "Friendship" tournaments on Sunday afternoons. Check gothamvolleyball.org for monthly updates. Gotham Volleyball's home base is the Bayard Rustin High School for the Humanities in Chelsea. The High School is located on West 18th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. The gym is on the 7th Floor. The nearest subway stations are: 14th Street on the A/E/C trains; 18th Street on the 1/9 trains.
